STD Testing and Treatment

Sexual Transmitted Disease (STD) or Sexual Transmitted Infection (STI), Testing and Treatment is always a sensitive subject. Nobody likes getting this done, and nobody is proud of it. But in today’s world, if you are sexually active with more than one partner, you should be getting screened at least twice a year. Don’t try to treat a sexually transmitted disease, or STD, yourself. These diseases are contagious and serious. You must see a doctor. Bacterial STDs can be cured with antibiotics if treatment begins early enough. Viral STDs cannot be cured, but you can manage symptoms with medications. You should discuss treatment options with your doctor at the time of receiving your results.

Herpes 2

Herpes simplex virus – 2 (HSV-2) is the virus most commonly associated with genital herpes.  It is an extremely common infection, though is under-diagnosed as many people do not have any signs of infection. It is important you see your doctor immediately if you feel you have symptoms.

Syphilis

Is a sexually transmitted infection caused by the bacterium Treponema pallidum subspecies pallidum. The signs and symptoms of syphilis vary depending on which of the four stages it presents (primary, secondary, latent, and tertiary). Syphilis is most commonly spread through sexual activity. It may also be transmitted from mother to baby during pregnancy or at birth, resulting in congenital syphilis. It is important you consult your doctor if you feel you have any symptoms.
